Canine Good Citizen Urban Dog Class Dates: Sept. 11th, 18th, 25th, Oct. 2nd, Oct 9th Test Date: Oct. 16th Rain Date: Oct. 23rd Take your dog’s good manners to the next level! The CGC Urban test is designed to evaluate your dog’s obedience and confidence in real-world, city-like environments. This 6-week course focuses on preparing you and your dog for the unique challenges of urban life—navigating busy sidewalks, crossing streets, ignoring food distractions, walking through doorways, and remaining calm around loud noises, traffic, and crowds. You and your dog will practice: -Loose-leash walking through busy areas -Politely greeting strangers in public -Ignoring distractions like food, noises, and other dogs -Entering and exiting doorways calmly -Remaining confident in tight spaces or crowded areas Week 6 will be your official AKC Urban CGC Test. To take the test, your dog must already have their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. While it’s recommended that your dog earn their CGC title before enrolling in this class, it’s not required to participate in the class. Whether you’re aiming for the official title or simply want a well-behaved, confident dog in any setting, this class will help you and your dog become a reliable team in the real world.
