AKC Puppy Star Group Class - 7 Weeks Tuesdays at 5:45pm - 6:45pm Dates: August 11th, 18th, 25th, Sept. 1st, 8th, 15th Test Date: Sept. 22nd At Willow Creek Dog Training, we combine our Puppy Group Class with the AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. Program to help you and your puppy become the best team possible. This unique 7 week program gives both you and your puppy the foundation needed for a lifetime of success. This program is designed for puppies during their most important learning period. Our goal is not only to teach obedience, but to help raise confident, social, and well mannered dogs while giving owners the knowledge and support they need every step of the way. Week 1 Owner Only Orientation: The first week is all about you. This Session Is Held Without Your Puppy So We Can Focus On: • How dogs learn • Effective reward based training techniques • Preventing unwanted behaviors before they start • Proper socialization and confidence building • Potty training and crate training success • Setting realistic expectations for puppyhood You will leave with clear tools, training homework, and a plan to begin training immediately at home. Weeks 2 Through 6 With Your Puppy Hands On Training Focused On: • Socialization and confidence building • Learning to stay calm around people, dogs, and distractions • Potty training and crate training • Basic obedience including sit, down, come, place, and leash walking • Building engagement and focus with owners • Good manners including no jumping, no biting, polite greetings, and settling calmly • Confidence around new environments, sounds, surfaces, and objects • Preventing common behavior problems before they become habits Our small class sizes allow for individualized coaching and a safe, structured learning environment for every puppy and owner team. Week 7 AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. Evaluation Your puppy will complete the official AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. test and can earn their first AKC recognition through the American Kennel Club. The AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. Program stands for: Socialization • Training • Activity • Responsibility You will not find another puppy class like this. We go beyond basic commands to build confidence, shape well mannered companions, and give owners the tools needed for long term success at home. Class Size: Max 4 dogs 7 Sessions Total (If you cannot make it to 1 class please let me know to see if a makeup is possible in another class. )
